Dedicated long term work force –

The Elms has a consistent and skilled workforce with very low staff turnover. Effective rostering means people experience continuity of care from familiar staff, building trust and positive relationships. Several staff members have been at The Elms for over a decade, reflecting strong commitment to employee satisfaction and retention.  Our staff qualifications are excellent.

Staff are the heart of our home and as such we ensure they are treated with respect and compassion. We strive to elevate our staff and value all they do.  We listen through regular staff meetings and surveys.

June 2025 staff survey results:  75% of staff completed the survey; overall satisfaction was 99%.  75% of the 12 questions asked scored 100%.

We listen to what Residents and Families have to say –

We actively seek feedback from residents and their families through surveys, meetings, and informal discussions. Resident surveys are done annually in addition to our monthly resident meetings. Feedback is overwhelmingly positive. It is analysed and actioned.

June 2025 resident survey results:  92% of residents completed with an average 98% satisfaction rate.  All questions related to care quality and staff achieved 100%.

CARE QUALITY COMMISSION

You may wonder why the last CQC report for The Elms is dated December 2020.  This is because post Covid, CQC will only visit and undertake inspections for homes where they feel there may be failings. As such we have not had a CQC inspection since December 2020. As a high quality care home, instead each year we are asked by CQC to complete a Provider Information Report (PIR) to update them on the services we offer and our safety and quality standards.

However, we have chosen to go one step further, be proactive, and hire a private consulting firm, to come in and undertake a two day annual ‘mock’ inspection at The Elms. The mock inspection is as thorough and demanding as that of a CQC inspection. We are happy to share the results of these inspections with you and the excellent results we achieve. This helps us to stay at the forefront of care and ensure we are continuously improving. What the inspections show year on year is The Elms provides exceptional safety, effective care, a caring environment, is responsive to all needs and is very well led.
